From the time this company began, we have selected simple, natural ingredients, and have obtained them from the most ethical, sustainable sources we can find. We try to source locally when possible, and also value organic and vegan ingredients. We continue to seek the best ingredients from principled partners and are always on the lookout. As our founder, Kelly says, “Carefully selected ingredients were actually the basis of the creation of this company, and that standard continues to be at the heart of what we do.” There has never been any question that our soap would use sustainable palm oil, but even sustainably certified sources can come into question.
While palm oil is an inherently sustainable, nutrient-dense oil, the way in which most palm oil is being produced has wreaked havoc on habitats, leading to the demise of critically-endangered species such as the Sumatran tiger, the Asian rhinoceros, and the Sumatran Orangutan.
