Focus on Farmers – Pablo Rosales

Published on: September 15, 2018

Palm Done Right Month has been full of news stories about sustainable oil palm farming and production. One story we’re particularly happy to see is Dr. Bronner’s giving us a shout out on Instagram and then Peta2 picked it up in their story 20 Cruelty-Free Beauty Brands You Can Find at Target.

Ecuadorian Organic Palm Farmer Pablo Rosales

“The forest provides a natural level of humidity which surrounds our crops and protects from diseases. Forest plays a role of a curtain around the actual farm, which defends organic crops: palm and fruit trees.”

Pablo’s farm in Ecuador includes vast amounts of primal forest which he has left untouched for 30 years so the native species of plants and animals can continue to thrive. The rest, he is passionate about cultivating organically; he’s even organized a special recycling unit on his farm to refuse and dispose of waste responsibly.

Why You Should Get Involved
with Palm Done Right

Palm can be grown for good, bringing benefits to:

  • Our planet, due to palm oil’s land efficiency.
  • Local communities, due to the economic development oil palm production creates.
  • Our market, due to palm oil’s versatility and functionality as an ingredient, lifting product quality and performance.

Together, we can influence change for:

  • Manufacturers that are still using conflict palm oil for their products.
  • Retailers that are still listing products that contain conflict palm oil.
  • Brokers and distributors that are still supplying their customers with products that contain conflict palm oil.
  • Shoppers that have the power to vote with their dollar.
