Palm Done Right Awareness Week September 20 – 30 2021 Celebrates Brands That Consciously Choose to Source Organic, Sustainable and Ethical Palm Oil

Boulder, Colo. September 8, 2021 — This September, mission-based educational platform Palm Done Right, raises awareness of brands that are committed to creating a better future by using organic, sustainable, and ethical palm oil. This campaign highlights the products and categories that are users of palm oil and explains why we use it. Together we celebrate the continued growth of the Palm Done Right Community and are proud to call out the brands in these ten product categories all sourcing palm oil that is organic, deforestation-free, wildlife-friendly, fair, and social.

Together, we celebrate:

Ahara GheePalm Done Right is thrilled to welcome our newest brand partner, Ahara Ghee. This unique brand offers delicious, simple, foundational foods, in collaboration with authentic and diverse practitioners of global healing traditions. Ahara Ghee’s core line consists of Traditional Indian Style Ghee and Traditional Ethiopian Niter Kibbeh as well as a variety of less traditional iterations on clarified butter and oils including medicinals from Ayurvedic traditions.

Founder and co-owner, Andrea Shuman say “We decided to produce a vegan version of our Traditional Niter Kibbeh, as the flavors of kibbeh are an important part of Ethiopian cuisine. Palm shortening behaves most like ghee, and we did not consider it an option to use conflict palm products. Palm done right allows us to ethically source the best ingredients without compromising our ethics.”

Palm oil – the world’s most consumed vegetable oil – is found in over half of household goods from foods to personal care products. When done the wrong way, palm oil can have a devastating impact on wildlife, forests, and communities. Done right, however, oil palms can nurture the soil, create jobs, provide fair wages, and foster strong farming communities.

“We are thrilled to watch the continued growth of the Palm Done Right movement, ” explains Monique van Wijnbergen, Director of Sustainability and Corporate Communications at Natural Habitats Group. “The more people understand the importance of choices affecting people and the planet, the more willing they will be to vote with their dollar and commit to making conscious choices every day.”
