September is Palm Done Right month, where we take great strides to educate the public about the practices of growing, harvesting, and trading ethical palm and palm oils. You might think of palm oil and imagine the reputation that precedes it: deforestation, community violence, and the destruction of natural habitats causing harm to wildlife. At Palm Done Right we are trying to change all of that, by promoting the great product that is palm oil while also educating farmers, palm industry professionals, and consumers on best practices surrounding ethical palm industry.
Palm Done Right is a mission-based educational movement that works with community leaders, farmers, and industry professionals to promote safe and ethical palm farming practices. The Palm Done Right campaign seeks to change how palm and palm oil is harvested on a communal and global scale, by promoting organic, deforestation-free, wildlife friendly, community supported, fair and ethical palm industry.
Each September the folks at Palm Done Right bring together retailers, brands, and conscious consumers to educate their networks and the general public about the benefits of ethical palm growth, harvest, and consumerism. When palm is done right it can nurture soil, protect forests and wildlife habitats, provide fair wages to community workers, and foster strong, healthy communities.
