Boulder, CO—September marks the third annual Palm Done Right Month, when consumers and industry make a stand for sustainable choices, according to a press release from Palm Done Right. The mission-based platform educates the public about the many benefits of palm oil, with the understanding that it is critical to support companies that use organic, deforestation-free, wildlife-friendly, fair palm oil.
The press release explains that when done the wrong way, palm oil can have a “devastating” impact on wildlife, forests, and communities. Done right, however, palm can nurture the soil, protect forests and wildlife habitats, provide fair wages, and foster strong communities. In 2020 alone, Palm Done Right has converted an additional 33% of hectares from conventional palm growing to organic and sustainable palm cultivation.
